Sozo Japanese Restaurant (Sozo Sushi) originally opened sometime in early 1996. The ownership/management changed to Nami Manderscheid in May of 1997. At which time, with the help of her husband Jim and friends, Sozo Sushi was initially remodeled and re-organized in a record breaking two days. Then another major remodel and expansion in 2002, which doubled the size of the restaurant. To improve our service to our customers we have expanded our dining area, staff, menu and hours of operation.
Sozo means "Creative". We try to "create" the best value, service, and food for you, our customers.
Nami oversees all aspects and details of the daily operation to ensure that the customer is happy. Our intention is to provide a fun, friendly, casual atmosphere where dining with family and friends is a pleasure. Truly a great place to find "Good Food, Good Prices, and Good Friends". Serving traditional teriyaki, tempura, sukiyaki, sushi, sashimi, and more. And Sozo Sushi's creative original maki rolls. Take-out and custom catering trays are available.
At Sozo Sushi, we take personal pride in adding an "extra effort" to the quality of our food . Our sauces and dressings are homemade from scratch providing the freshest of flavors. Our sushi is delivered daily to provide the freshest sushi possible. And even though avocado prices have increased annually since we opened, our "California Rolls" are still the same price as when we opened in May of 1997.
Many of our customers have become friends, and in some cases, like family. We would like to thank all of our customers, whose patronage has contributed to our success.
We hope you will stop by and visit us.
Nami & Jim
